Porcelain Veneers & Lumineers
A porcelain “laminate”, “veneer” or “Lumineer” is a facing that literally covers the face of the tooth to correct or enhance the appearance and is a very successful and popular treatment choice. Whether it is used to close gaps, change the color, reshape the teeth, or straighten the
tooth’s appearance, this is a predictable and exciting cosmetic procedure requiring only 2 visits for an amazing life changing result!
The term “Lumineer” is used for a special type of porcelain that is called “cerinate” and is copyrighted by DenMat Cerinate studios. These may be obtained only by a dentist that has obatained specialized training and certification by this company. Using these restorations are case selective.
The advantage is the minimal requirement of altering the shape of the
original tooth and creating a facing (similar to a contact lens except for a tooth.) This restoration is permanently cemented onto the natural enamel and rarely requires anesthesia.
