Delta Dental Coverage Availability & Fees
There are currently three different types of Delta Dental benefits plans, which include:
- Delta Dental PPOSM
- Delta Dental Premier®
- DeltaCare®USA (Delta’s DHMO-type closed network plan)
Patients who have selected the Delta Dental PPO and Delta Dental Premier dental insurance plans are free to see any licensed dentist of their choice. However, your savings will increase if you select a dentist who is in-network with your plan. For those with DeltaCare USA, your plan requires that you select a primary care dentist from their provider network.
The exact coverage you receive from your Delta Dental Premier Insurance plan depends on your specific coverage, the dentist you choose, and the treatment you receive. Under most Delta Dental Premier plans, a pre-specified percentage of the cost of your treatment will be paid out by your plan, and the remaining balance will depend on Powell Dental Group’s fees. This means that your out-of-pocket expenses will probably be much lower when you visit our dental office because we are a proud in-network provider.
With Delta Dental Insurance, your plan may have a table of allowances that specify a dollar amount they will pay for each dental treatment. In this case, you would pay the difference between your allowance and our fees.
Please also be aware that most Delta Dental Insurance plans operate within a specific benefit period which is usually one calendar year, although this is not always from January through December. Furthermore, some annual maximums and limits can be applied to each member of your family.
